Xylimelts

Xylimelts is a salivary replacement tablet stuck to the gum and especially useful at night .We start to see a steep increase in decay and gum disease in the older age group due to the reduction in saliva , and this can create a lot of issues for speech / eating and general health . This is also a side effect of many drugs especially antidepressants, some blood pressure medications , diuretics and many others .

I always recommend frequent sipping of water from a sippy bottle but a salivary replacement is a good idea, some salivary replacement work better for some patient than others, so it is a good idea to try 2-3 different brands before deciding which is the best one that works for you and stick to it.

This is in the form of tablets stuck to the gum so that it releases mucin saliva , through the night , and this is one of my recommendations. This is supposedly very useful at night and I have received very good feedback from my patients who have used it at night .
