WHY DOES RIZ RECOMMEND THIS?
IF FOR ANY CHANCE YOU CANNOT AFFORD AN ELECTRIC BRUSH - ONLY IF!!

My issues with manual toothbrushes,We are supposed to brush in a circle for 2-3 teeth at a time at a 45 degree angle to the teeth , with a manual brush- which is so hard to do and so most people end up brushing back and forth or up and down and this can cause a lot of issues at the gum line . Most people are not aware you need to brush gentle with a medium toothbrush! and most people are not aware how strong the BICEPS ARE!!

1. It is well evidenced that an electric toothbrushes works much better than a manual toothbrush.
2. It causes gum recession due to wrong technique - the gums recede due to excess force which is irreversible.
3. It causes abrasion and sometimes severe abraion , needing extractions!!!!.The enamel at the gum line is as thin as 0.5- 0.1 mm or even absent in certain people , so this is very delicate and usually comes away easily forming a notch at the gum line ( plus gum recession ) which then acts like a plaque trap , then dentist tell the patients you are brushing hard , so the patients stops brushing as hard , thus these dips start to collect more plaque and this causes gum disease( which further worsens the , and a horrible vicious cycle , so if you have an abrasion cavity my advice is to get it filled and use and electric toothbrush.
4. It is very difficult to clean the insides of the lower teeth , and more so with a manual brush , and often missed and get gum disease.
5. the lower front teeth on the inside - people brush up and down , pushing the gum down - causing 'v' shaped notches on the insides of the lower teeth gum , and then this are collecting more plaque.

LOL, hope this list has made you aware or how you brush and the damage it is causing at least!! I can count on my fingers even after 20 years how many people brush efficiently with a manual brush without damage to their teeth and gums!

This is a good budget manual toothbrush , medium , has bristles of different length and angulation , and I quite liked the efficiently of its brushing .This is a good toothbrush if used with the correct technique , and is one of my recommendations.
