This patient was grappling with the frustration of a loose upper denture and sought our assistance. After conducting a CBCT scan, we discovered that there wasn't enough bone to support a full arch implant bridge. To address this challenge, we collaboratively decided on a treatment plan that involved an implant-supported upper denture and a lower chrome (metal) partial denture.

In the planning phase, we used the patient's existing denture to carefully determine the optimal positions for the implants. These implants were placed with great precision by our skilled implant surgeon, Sam. It's essential for denture stability to have the implants placed in a very parallel manner, ensuring adequate retention.

The denture design was a critical aspect of this case. We aimed to achieve a more youthful and natural-looking smile while maintaining the lip protrusion that the patient had been accustomed to for many years.

In the upper jaw, we placed four implants, and locator abutments were employed. The locator abutments consisted of a male component that extended from the gums and a female component on the denture base. The female component contained a rubber disk that securely clipped onto the locator abutment, providing the denture with good stability, retention, and support.

Both the patient and our dental team were extremely pleased with the final outcome. This case is an excellent example of how collaboration and careful planning can lead to a successful solution that significantly improves a patient's quality of life, addressing their concerns with loose dentures and restoring confidence in their smile.
